Antibacterial Activity and Bioactivity of Zn-Doped TiO2 Coating for Implants

Lacking osseointegration and peri-implantitis induced by bacterial infiltration are the pivotal issues for long-term clinical success of implants. In order to improve bioactivity antibacterial properties implant materials, volcano-shaped microporous TiO2 coatings doped with Zinc (Zn) were fabricated via a micro-arc oxidation (MAO) method on pure titanium (Ti). The microstructure, morphology, chemical composition Zn-doped systematically studied. cell culture tests, formed promoted adhesion proliferation bone mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs), exhibiting good biocompatibility. experiments revealed that Zn-TiO2 possess excellent against Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) Porphyromonas gingivalis (P. gingivalis).
